The Experience

Wellspring Consulting offers an entrepreneurial environment where there is substantial opportunity for consultants to take on new challenges as they are ready and contribute to the development of the firm.

Consulting staff work in small teams on engagements that generally last from four to eight months.  The problems we address are intellectually challenging and fascinating, resulting in continuous learning on the job.  Consultants typically work on two projects at a time, creating an opportunity to gain broad exposure to the social sector in a short period of time.

A typical week involves a wide variety of activities.  Consultants spend a portion of their time on independent work, such as researching a social issue, conducting interviews, doing financial analysis, or creating client presentations.  They also spend time participating in Wellspring case team and client meetings.

The amount of travel varies significantly and depends upon the nature of our engagements and the location of clients.  Typically, consultants travel about one day a week.  This might include travel once or twice a month for each client, and travel between offices for case team meetings.  Most travel consists of day trips.
